Santa Claus Fund Online Auction Website

The Medicine Hat News Santa Claus Fund is having an online auction starting today and finishing on December 16th. I previously posted about their new website and now we have an online auction version of their site as well. It seems like more and more organizations and charitable services in the city are taking the plunge and going digital, sometimes exclusively; however, you still have to come pick up your items at the Medicine Hat News building – in person!

There’s tons of items up for bidding (over 50) by many sponsors all throughout the city. Many local companies and businesses have graciously donated services and inventory to the Santa Claus Fund in hopes of making money for the organization. As many know, the Santa Claus Fund gives back to local needy families and individuals during the Christmas season, but also throughout the whole year. As with any online auction, be weary of those last minute bidders that snatch up your items!

At the end of bidding and if you are the winner of any item(s), you are able to pay via PayPal, or you can pay with cash/debit/credit card in person when you pick up your item(s) at the Medicine Hat News building.

I found out about this internet auction last night which is just about the right time since some items are ending tomorrow night. Chat TV’s internet auction is a lot like the Big Bike Auction and the Kinsmen Auction in that, it is a local non-profit internet auction for businesses to submit items to. In return, these businesses receive advertising credit on their radio and TV stations. So in that sense, it is unlike the previously mentioned two, and the Chat TV Medicine Hat Internet Auction is not a charity in any way.

There seems to be around 75 items up for grab, with the more popular items being the gift certificates and gift packages which usually go for above their cost; however, since this is not for charity, they probably won’t go over their value – there’s quite a few Pizza Hut ones in this category.

Big Bike AuctionThe annual Heart & Stroke Big Bike Auction website is now live and will be until the 31st. Sadly, there doesn’t seem to be that many items this year up for auction. Last year there was around 20 or 30 items, but hopefully some other community business members or individuals will donate some more once they know about it. The online auction system seems to work better than last years with improvements to the look as well.

Some of the items online now include two iPods, gift certificates to various businesses and a signed Medicine Hat Tigers jersey. Get bidding!

Last night, at midnight, the Medicine Hat Kinsmen Auction (Kinsmen Club of Medicine Hat) opened bidding on their online auction site. Already it has picked up some steam with many registered members and tons of active bids. This year there is a huge selection of items ranging anywhere from home hardware, automotive, and even technology. To give you an example of some of the generous donations this year, 4 separate pool tables were donated to the cause each retailing from $3500 to $6000!

The donations are all made by local businesses and stores all over Medicine Hat – places like Ideal Jewelery, Jackson Dodge, Moxie’s, Cactus RV, Sterling Trailers, Ultimate Spas, Ralph’s Texas Bar & Steakhouse and that’s just to name a very random few.  Other items include digital cameras, a XBOX 360, tons of gift cards and gift baskets, free rooms at lodges/hotels, watches, collectibles, and tons more. Maybe it’s just best if you check it out for yourself…
