Artists and Artisans Wanted

Local Art Studio provides artists with space, opportunities, and community

The Hive Artists’ Hub Society is excited to announce a call for applications for studio artists and submissions for consignment work from artists and artisans!

Located in historic downtown Medicine Hat, The Hive is Medicine Hat’s premiere non-profit independent artists’ hub. Founded in 2011, The Hive Artists’ Hub Society offers safe and affordable studio spaces and a window into the art community for local artists of all ages and professions. The Hive has recently created additional studio spaces, and is now accepting applications for studio membership for their vibrant Second Street location. Studio members benefit from an energetic and supportive working studio environment, as well as from unique business, educational and promotional opportunities.

“The Hive is an active member within Medicine Hat’s art community, offering classes and workshops, participating in many local festivals and events, and acting as an important catalyst for the revitalization of downtown Medicine Hat,” says Stephanie Dalla-Longa, a Hive studio member.

In addition, The Hive strives to support and promote local and regional artists and artisans through the sale of artworks in The Hive Boutique, located in the Esplanade Arts and Heritage Centre on first street. With the spring season fast approaching, The Hive Boutique is currently seeking work from artists and artisans for new consignment opportunities.

All artists, artisans, musicians, fashion designers, graphic designers, photographers, tattoo artists, illustrators, painters, sculptors, jewelry designers, ceramic artists, woodworkers, printmakers, students, and any other creative individuals that are searching for a studio or a venue to display and sell their handmade and original work are encouraged to contact The Hive today!
