On Sunday, June 21st, 2009 it will be the YMCA’s 25th anniversary Father’s Day River Run in Medicine Hat. Judging on how successful the recent Relay for Life was, which brought in an amazing 800 people and $290,000 in fundraising for the Canadian Cancer Society – it would seem people love running and fundraising in Medicine Hat. Although this running event is a little different, expect a lot of these things to happen this summer. The following is a transcript from the pamphlet if you need more information. • 5Km & 10Km starts at 9:00 AM sharp.
• 3Km starts at 9:10 AM sharp.
• All runs start and finish at the Family YMCA.
• Registration accepted until 8:30 AM SHARP Race Day
• First 300 to register receive a T-Shirt (Sizes guaranteed until June 1st)
• Pancakes, fruit and refreshments to follow!

Race Info

• Choose from 3Km, 5Km, and 10Km courses on a scenic route through the South Saskatchewan River Valley.
• The course is basically flat and fast.
• Rollerbladers are not permitted to participate – due to course terrain, sorry!
• Walkers welcome.

Early Bird Registration

• 3Km run is $16.00/person
• 5 & 10Km run is $20.00/person
• First 300 to register will receive a T-Shirt!

Race Day Registration

• 3Km run is $20.00/person
• 5 & 10Km run is $25.00/person

Race Package Pickup

• Race package and number may be picked up in person at the Family YMCA between 6:00 – 8:30 PM Saturday June 20th, or between 7:30 and 8:30 AM Sunday June 21st (our of town participants only).
• Registration will be accepted until 8:30 AM on race day.
• Course closes at 10:30 AM

Awards and Prizes

• Medals to the top three finishers in each category of the 5km & 10km runs.
• The first male and female in the 5 & 10km run will receive first-place prizes.
• All participants and volunteers will be eligible for numerous prize draws.
• Only entries picked up by 8 PM Saturday, June 20th qualify for pre-race prizes.
