More Health Services to Move to Calgary?
Alberta Health Services wants to move Medicine Hat’s Ambulance Dispatch to Calgary. City Council and many hatters believe this is a terrible idea and another snub on our region. A petition on this issue has been created to have AHS re-think their decision.
If we can get a decent amount of signatures on the petition, city council will present this petition to the province. Click here to sign the petition!

Not that it’s the same, but it’s kind of like big companies having their support centers situated in foreign countries, like Dell. When I called into them a couple times, it was handled in India who were difficult to understand through the accent.
In a lesser extreme, if the Ambulance service is working here, why change it? And even further, it seems like having to between cities in the event of a crisis, that could waste precious seconds.

Signed. Also passing it on to my tweeples and anyone else I can think of. Hopefully this will get lots of support! I’d rather not outsource part of our health and safety, even to Calgary!

Medicine Hat isn’t a small place, and it’s getting bigger. We should be able to get control of this ourselves.
I heard before that the ambulance system is pretty bad, even if ours isn’t bad we should work on making it better.

Moving Medicine Hat’s Ambulance Dispatch to Calgary was really a pathetic decision.
