My name is Dana Gackle, and I just bought into Heartbreaker Dance & Fitness in November. Heartbreaker Dance & Fitness has some of the best instructors there is, and our strengths are health, fitness and nutrition. It really is a important to have a combination of all aspects.
There are three studios within Heartbreaker, and I purchased two of them, and the original owner, Marla Howard, kept one. Although I am new to the business ownership, Heartbreaker Dance & Fitness has been in operation for five years!
Marla kept the studio called “The Energy Studio” and that studio specializes in Bootcamp style workouts from 6am to 8pm, as well as TRX, i-Flow, Kettlebells, Zumba classes, the Original Bikini Contest, and one-on-one Nutrition.
I have taken another route, so that we can compliment each other’s class offerings. In the “Spin Studio”, I offer more specialized classes and brought in or brought back a variety of new and exciting classes that I am still in the “building stage of”, such as Kickboxing, Yummy Mommy (for moms to workout with their babies), Kids Fitness, Dangerous Curves, Spin Classes, Boxing Classes, an Eat Clean / Work Smarter Support Group, and Noon Hour Sweat Free Workouts so people can go back to work without being all sweaty.
In my second studio, called “The Fantasy Lounge” and is located upstairs, and is a beautiful studio setting to Yoga, Pilates, Pole-Fitness and Burlesque classes and Workshops. Two Local Dancers Select to Perform Onstage with Ballet Jörgen Canada This Friday
Company also to lead Master Classes for local dancers on Thursday
Toronto-based dance company Ballet Jörgen Canada will give two local Medicine Hat dancers the opportunity of a lifetime this Friday when they perform Cinderella at the Esplanade.
Local dancers Jaimie Kopeck from the Hanson School of Dance and Kelsey Pocsik from the Medicine Hat College Conservatory of Music and Dance will play the roles of ballroom attendants, dancing alongside 15 professional Ballet Jörgen Canada dancers, including Artistic Director and CEO Bengt Jörgen.
Kopeck and Pocsik were selected from a number of local dance students who were nominated by their instructors to submit a short application to Ballet Jörgen Canada. The application asked: what the dancer loved most about dancing, and what the dancer hoped to gain from sharing the stage with Ballet Jörgen Canada. THE JUMP – Read the rest of this entry »
Hit n' Run Reunion Poster
The Hit N Run Reunion Benefit Dance is being held in honor of Ralph & Shirley Seefried who lost their home to a fire on April 31st, 2009. Unfortunately due to lack of insurance on their home of 40 years and no money to start over, this benefit dance and BBQ is designed to help raise money to assist them in rebuilding their lives.
The event is scheduled for Saturday, August 29th, 2009 at the Redcliff Rectangle Arena. It will start for the public at 6PM kicking off the BBQ (with open bar). Live music will begin at 6:30PM with performances by Psycho CirKiss (A local Kiss tribute band, amazing name by the way), Whiskey Ridge (country/rock band) and Hit n’ Run, a rock band that played locally in the 1980’s and 1990’s who will be reuniting for this event.

Tickets can be purchased in advance at Tower Junction (TJ’s) Pub when they go on sale Friday, August 14th. Alternatively, although not recommended as this show will sell out, any remaining tickets may be purchased at the door. Tower Junction is also sponsoring this event exclusively.
