The pizza outpost opened up at the beginning of the summer in 2009, and pretty quick afterward, Taylor said we had to go there, so we did. The pizza was much the same as you would expect from Pizza Hut or Pizza 73, with the exception that Little Caesars pizza is prepared beforehand and placed into ovens to keep them warm until being purchased, which is the same with their side dishes as well.

The downside to pre-preparing is that the pizza might be sitting there for a while before you stroll along, or they might not have pre-prepared the type of pizza you wanted before you got there. The upside is that you can walk in and within a couple minutes, walk out with hot pizza and side dishes in hand.

Downsides apart, the pizza and (semi-oily) bread sticks that Taylor and I purchased were good. A word of warning; however, is to not eat in your car and balance the bread stick sauce container on your knee and try to dance, because you will have a bad time cleaning the mess out of your console, or wherever it lands.

Little Caesars is located at #109, 20 Northland Way Ne in Crescent Heights.

The swimming area includes a children’s pool, a fair sized wave pool, three larger pools used for swimming lessons and aerobics, lane swimming, and a deeper pool for diving boards, the water slide, and swinging from a rope, as well as a hot tub and and steam room. Sadly, there is not a sauna.

The skating rink often has hockey and skating events going on, but is also open to the public at certain times for public skating.

The weight room, while not overly large, contains most of the basic weight lighting and cardio machinery, such as treadmills, bench presses and other weights, pretty much everything you would need to have a good work out, though they are missing the obligatory Tony Little Gazelle.

Purchasing an admission pass to the swimming pool also couples with the weight room, so take advantage of it if you can.

There is also a fairly concession stand that offers many things like drinks and snack foods.

Birthday parties are commonplace at the Leisure Center, and often their recreational room has many banners and balloons strung up along the walls. More information regarding having a birthday party can be found on their website: http://www.medicinehat.ca/FLC/parties.html

Whether you are looking to swim, skate, work out and are younger or older, the Leisure Centre is the place to go.

Apparently over the last few days there has been a nudist or pervert walking around Medicine Hat taking the liberty of flashing people.

Last reports, given by people calling into My96FM, suggest the person has been sighted around Crescent Heights area and has been seen around schools, perhaps around St. Mary’s school.

I expect this story will get blown out of proportion like the “Kick a Ginger Day.” Many people will invariably assume that if they see someone with a long coat or some sinister look to them that they will be linked to the current story. Of course, “Free Speech Friday” on My96FM does not really help the situation, when freaked out people call in with half-truths or uninformed perceptions.
