Medicine Hat has made it onto a list of 65 Canadian cities that will vie for a spot on a new Monopoly Canada board game to be launched on Canada Day. Hasbro, the makers of Monopoly, are launching a nationwide vote for Canada’s 22 favourite cities to be included on the new game board in celebration of Hasbro’s 75th anniversary.
Beginning Monday at midnight and running to Feb. 7, Monopoly fans can visit www.monopolyvote.ca to vote for their favourite Canadian cities. Medicine Hat is one of 65 cities pre-selected for the top 20 city vote, based on population and a representation of all provinces.
Canada Day is coming up and there will be a whole lot of events going on in and around the city.
The Canada Day celebration kicks off at 730AM at the Lion’s Club with a pancake breakfast and officially ends with Fireworks in Kin Coulee park. I sure hope the hills in the coulee start on fire again, that is at least half the fireworks entertainment value!
Other entertainment will include bands, lotteries, food and snack stands, and of course, merchandise.
A compilation of the events can be found on the events section of the Canada Day Medicine Hat website, check it out.
