If anything this makes me feel more apathetic about the federal elections as I would most probably vote Liberal.

I’m looking forward to a potential debate. I haven’t heard anyone independent, Green or NDP announce they are running but I think these two might make it interesting. I don’t think either of them really handle the spotlight very well or answer questions with much tact.

I heard a lot of people mention they won’t vote for Boucher based solely on the fact he was elected mayor and he will be forgoing his duties for almost 5 weeks in this campaign. I think it’s just the nature of politics and I’m waiting to hear more about what he has to say before deciding my vote.

Could this be the beginning of a Liberal swing in Medicine Hat? I don’t think he’ll win this election but I think it might start an increase in Liberal voting in the area. Few people seem to think a Liberal will ever win here but not too many people thought a progressive and Muslim mayor could be elected in Calgary either.

I don’t know, I never thought as Boucher as a Liberal-type of guy, I would of definitely pegged him as a conservative. Perhaps I just don’t pay attention that much.

Also, here’s Med Hat Blog’s article on the situation:

It’s kind of funny seeing lots of national articles popping up about Boucher now.
