Default Playing MHC Homecoming 2010

Medicine Hat College is calling all alumni, students, and community members to join us on September 17 & 18, 2010 for Homecoming.

The annual college celebration will feature new activities for families and continue the festival theme of previous years. This year we are ecstatic to announce Canadian band Default will headline the main stage concert.

Default’s career got started when they were discovered by Nickelback’s Chad Kroeger shortly after forming in Vancouver in 1999. Kroeger’s interest led him to support the production of their debut album The Fallout. Their latest album, Comes and Goes, debuted in September 2009.

In addition to the concert, the homecoming weekend will include:

Friday, September 17, 2010

  • 1982/83 Alumni invitation dinner

Saturday, September 18, 2010

  • Rattlers Hall of Fame Breakfast at 9:30 am
  • Rattlers Soccer Action
  • Women’s Game at Noon
  • Men’s Game at 2 pm
  • ATB Family Fun Zone gates open at 4 pm
  • Kinsmen Beer Gardens gates open at 4 pm
  • Concert starts at 7 pm
  • Fireworks to close the show

Homecoming 2010 is expected to be the biggest celebration yet! For more information check us out

Default’s bass player looks like Qui-Gon Jin with dreadlocks.

On a serious note: When I saw Default opening for 3 Days Grace, Default was way more interesting/fun than the latter band.

All he ever did, Dusty, was bring out balancing out The Force. Why can’t you just let him have it and stop trying to take it away from him?

Remember when we watched that with Meg in 1st year, and I cried at how emotional the scene was, and then she took pictures? Then we spilled Dominoes sauce all over the carpet.

Default was pretty good again this year, and a lot more mobile around the stage than last year when they opened for 3 Days Grace.

The funny thing is it felt like the exact same show as last year in that the guitarist wore the same hat and they had the same introduction “Default” dialogue from The Simpsons.
