The arena is so half n half it isn’t even funny, people in same situations even have different opinions on it. I think people who like sports and go to the arena to see them are in favor, whereas people who have 0 use for it probably are thinking they’d rather see something else. This is my theory, anyway.

Being on a Monopoly board WILL boost tourism. Think about it, it’s advertising, promotion and recognition in a non-traditional form so it’s not instantly ignored. When players play the game, they need to say “Medicine Hat”, see “Medicine Hat”, and interact with “Medicine Hat”. People won’t plan cross-country tours, but they have a chance of stopping in.

Also, why do you say nobody wants a new arena when the vote was 5 to 4 (or 2 to 3 to 4) a plan of a plebiscite, huge debate on letters to the editor/ticked off and tickled pink and the almost 50% Yes/No poll on the Medicine Hat News.

Being on a Monopoly board isn’t going to boost tourism, although it probably would boost it more than a new arena that no one wants? Monopoly Patrons probably won’t plan a cross-Canada tour to visit all chosen cities and drop a bunch of money into them.

The mayors of all the leading cities should just get together and play Monopoly to see who wins and gets the best property locations, except they would all get ADHD and call it before there was an actual winner.
