There will be some slight changes from the current program, but the existing collection schedule will remain the same. Here are some important tips about the new service:

  • When the 95-gallon (360 litre) automated waste collection cart new carts are delivered, look for a special plastic packet that will contain important information needed to participate in the new program. This packet will be attached to the cart and residents are asked to read all of the enclosed materials.
  • Start using the new cart immediately, no waste materials placed outside of the carts will be collected.
  • Until the end of the 2009 yard waste collection program, residents should continue to place their yard waste in paper yard waste bags or approved 77-litre cans labeled “For Composting”. A new automated yard waste collection program will begin in spring 2010.
